- Bubba Keg
- Metal Primer
- Painter’s Tape
- Mod podge
- Minwax Polycrylic sealant (blue label)
I started by taping off all the edges and spraying it with metal primer. Then i painted the background blue and worked my way up from the bottom with the other colors. Seal with two layers of mod podge and two layers of Minwax Polycrylic sealant. Make sure you let the mod podge layers dry for at least an hour and let the final polycrylic coat dry for at least 24 hours before use.
I started out with four blank 6 by 6 canvases from Michael’s Craft Store. I painted two of them aqua and the other two coral (took about three coats). Then I added the gold designs on top, in order to make the gold more opaque, I did multiple coats of paint. I then traced the elephant silhouettes using a fine tip Sharpie.
- Glue gun
- Fake flowers (I bought mine at Joann’s)
- Wooden letters (from Michael’s)
Begin by cutting all of the flowers off their stems and add in a few leaves if you like.
Then start placing the flowers onto the letters and use the hot glue to keep them in place.
Add as many flowers as you like! Cover the whole thing or leave some white space like I did.
That’s it! Adorable letters that only cost me about $15 to make.
